Let Them Eat Cupcakes

If you've even been to one of my parties you know we go all out, but this year's Marie Antoinette Tipsy Tea Party took it to a new level.

That's a fountain of French lemonade- pink, of course.

Recently I have been extremely busy with a new movie project and I apologize for the absence. During this crazy time I am working for the first time as a prop master on a movie- a wonderful independent project that has me running all around Atlanta in search of props. I have been dying to post pictures of the annual Tipsy Tea Party and received them in the mail today so I had to step away from prop land momentarily in order to share!

The amazing Melissa of Melissa Prosser Photography agreed to attend the event AND shoot it- I am thrilled that she did!
The story goes that I found these fantastic shoes and I couldn't think of anything better to do with them than to throw a Marie Antoinette party based off of them, since they were too tricky to walk in outside of my house. Many hours of planning later resulted in a fabulous fete for 18 of my friends. A huge turnout compared to previous Tipsy Tea Parties!

I love sparkler pictures and out by the pool was the perfect venue- we painted little boats and had the guests write wishes on a scrap of paper and put it in their boat, which we then set sail on the pool to a fanfare of sparklers and champagne.

Also available for guests were mouches- the little stick on beauty marks popular during the time. I ordered these from Bell'occhio in San Francisco. The diagram included was a copy of one found in a courtesan's handkerchief!

We had little pink and white fans as favors for the guests, as well as pink baggies full of pink French candies.

One of my projects was to paint pirate boats to make them more Marie like and to be reminiscent of the famous portrait of her with a model ship in her hair.
It was a fabulous event and I can't wait until next year. Thank you to everyone who helped me prepare, especially Shauna, Michelle, Tiffany, Anna, and Jenn! I simply couldn't have done it without you. And many thanks to Melissa for capturing it all so beautifully
